How do I choose the right sewing machine?

The best sewing machine depends on your experience level, the types of projects you want to create and your budget. Beginners often benefit from simple, easy-to-use machines, while experienced makers may prefer advanced features for quilting, embroidery or dressmaking. Our team can help you choose the right sewing machine for your needs.

What is the best sewing machine for beginners?

The best sewing machine for beginners is one that offers reliable stitching, easy controls and room to grow as your skills develop. We recommend choosing a machine from trusted brands such as Bernina, Bernette or Brother with automatic threading and a selection of built-in stitches.

Which sewing machine brands do you stock?

We stock leading sewing machine brands including Bernina, Bernette, Brother, Juki, Pfaff and Horn Furniture. These brands are known for quality, reliability and long-term support.

What is the difference between a sewing machine and an overlocker?

A sewing machine is designed for general sewing tasks including garment making, alterations and quilting. An overlocker trims, sews and finishes fabric edges in a single step, creating a professional finish and helping prevent fraying.

What is the difference between a sewing machine and an embroidery machine?

A sewing machine is primarily used for construction and stitching projects, whereas an embroidery machine is designed to create decorative embroidery designs. Some combination machines can perform both functions.

Do you offer finance on sewing machines?

Yes, finance is available on selected Brother sewing machines, embroidery machines and overlockers. Finance allows you to spread the cost of your purchase into manageable monthly payments.
